By working closely with local partners, we help countries strengthen their national capacity and capabilities in key sectors. One example of this is our involvement in establishing a Cyber Centre of Excellence in Morocco. This initiative supports the Government’s vision of enhancing Morocco’s Cyber Security capabilities, positioning it as a key player in the region and a gateway for European investment into North Africa.

We are also exploring similar opportunities with a Latin American country that shares these aspirations.

Launched in March 2022, the Cyber Centre of Excellence in Rabat, Morocco, was established in collaboration with the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) as part of a broader effort to create a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence for Africa. The launch event was attended by key figures, including British and Moroccan parliamentary delegates, business leaders and academics.

The highlight of the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Mohammed V University (the Centre’s host) and Maritemex, Templar Executives’ joint-venture organisation backing the Centre’s development.

Maritemex, a new UK-Moroccan partnership, was formed with leading international Cyber Security experts, Templar Executives. The Centre’s training and courses are powered by Templar Executives’ Cyber Academy, collaborating with select partners. In 2024, Maritemex further strengthened its impact through a strategic partnership with Harmony Technology, a leading Moroccan firm in knowledge management and data processing. This collaboration is a major step forward in advancing Cyber initiatives both locally and globally.
