The United Kingdom has taken an important step in international diplomacy by affirming its support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, recognising it as the most credible, viable and pragmatic basis to resolve the Sahara dispute. The joint declaration, signed in Rabat by Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, reflects the UK’s intent to act bilaterally, regionally and internationally in line with this position, including through potential investment and economic partnership in the region.
